There are generally 3 main components associated with the cost of a funeral:

PROFESSIONAL FEES – WHAT’S INCLUDED?

For all Single, Dual and Extended Dual services our professional fee includes:

• In Person Funeral Arrangement
• Organisation of Medical Certificate
• Registration of Death with Births, Deaths & Marriages
• 1 hour viewing within business hours (9am-5pm, Monday to Friday)
• Use of John Dunn Memorial Chapel
• Provision of a hearse and staff for the service
• Mortuary Care

THIRD PARTY FEES

• Costs paid out by John Dunn Funerals on your behalf in arranging the service in accordance with your instructions, such as:
  Floral Tributes, Paper Notices, Clergy or Celebrant Fees, Coach or Limo Hire, Service Booklets, Musician / Vocalist fees, Livestreaming, Embalming Fees, etc.

TRANSFER FEES

• Transfers within 50km – no charge
• Transfers 50-100km – $380.00*
• After Hours Transfer – $495.00* (after hours and within 50kms)
• Outside 100kms $POA

Your loved one will be transferred from place of passing into our care at any time by our own staff.
All mortuary care and accommodation will be at John Dunn Funerals Ararat.

TYPES OF SERVICES

Single Service

• Funeral Service Held at John Dunn Memorial Chapel followed by Private Cremation.
• A Graveside service only held at the chosen cemetery.

Dual Service

• Funeral Service Held at John Dunn Memorial Funerals Chapel, followed by Burial.

Memorial Service

• Memorial Service held at John Dunn Memorial Chapel. (Excludes coffin at Service and attendance at Committal

Extended/Complex Service

• Complex Funeral Service followed by Burial or Private Cremation outside of John Dunn Memorial Chapel (Includes set‑up and pack‑up, use of audio‑visual equipment, any extended service time required etc)

Single Service Cremation

• Funeral Service Held at John Dunn Memorial Chapel, Followed by Private Cremation.

Memorial Service

• Memorial Service Held at John Dunn Memorial Chapel, after cremation.

Extended/Complex Service

• Complex Funeral Service outside of John Dunn memorial Chapel, followed by Private Cremation. (Includes set‑up and pack‑up, use of audio‑visual equipment, any extended service time required etc.)

REQUIRED COSTS

Costs that are necessary to carry out the funeral on your behalf.

• Transfer & Mortuary Care Fee – $495.00* (after hours and within 50kms)
• Coffin / Casket – from $900.00
• Cremation Fee – from $660.00**
• Death Certificate – from $69.70 
• Medical Doctor Authorising Cremation – $130.00
• Additional fees may apply for oversized

DIRECT CREMATION PACKAGE

For families wishing to move forward with a cremation only, we offer one simple Direct Cremation package which is all inclusive essential care, to keep things simple. You may choose to complete all arrangements over the phone, via email, or select a more personal face-to-face option. 
Unlike online-only providers, we have a dedicated funeral home and chapel, allowing us to offer personal service and support. Your loved one is cared for in our own facilities, not transferred to third-party or global mortuaries.

• This package includes an in-person arrangement with our compassionate staff, ensuring your loved one receives the personal attention and essential care they deserve. 
• For families wishing to say a final goodbye, this package includes a private viewing prior to the cremation, offering comfort and closure in a respectful setting.
